About the Book
Story by Nellie Nevius, as told to Janet Croyle Weaver. Illustratrated by Gwyn Stramler. This is the story of a day in the life of the Little Brown Elf. The Little Brown Elf wakes up early in his bed in his cozy forest cottage and sets off to replenish the supply of zippenpoofer seeds without which he is powerless to perform the magical acts of service that bring joy to his life. What should have been an uneventful trip to a patch of zippenpoofer bushes deeper in the forest turns into a frightening adventure. Facing danger with the help of his best friend, the Owl, the day ends with the two friends safely back home, toasting their feet before a crackling fire, sharing cookies and memories of a day excitingly gone by.
