About the Book
Of my many treks through Nepal's Himalayan regions, my trek through the remote area of Dolpo was the most arduous. It was also an amazing adventure. Traveling with my wife and son, we were the only westerners to experience the Buddhist/Bon summer festival in the Do Tarap Valley. Although we lacked a permit, we traveled to the remote village of Charka where high adventure and danger awaited us. Fortunately we made friends with the local Tibetan medicine man and his family who saved us.
