About the Book
It is 1930 in Detroit, Michigan. The Rosewood Hotel which was once a five star hotel is now falling apart. The economy is going downhill and the demand for food and jobs is rising. At the heart of the Rosewood Hotel is a woman named Elizabeth, who will do anything to keep the hotel alive.
When Heather, the front desk woman sells a room at a low price Elizabeth becomes furious and explains that she deeply needs the money. Elizabeth leaves for a moment, and when she returns the room is now available causing the employees to wonder. Later the bellhop, Mike explains to Heather that he had to clean up "the mess" that was in the room. All he can state is that there was blood everywhere.
