About the Book
The Greene family derived their name from their ancient possessions in Northamptonshire, where they were seated as early as King Edward I. Alexander De Greene De Boketon is the first Lord De Greene awarded the manor in 1202. The English Greene ancestors were lords of manors in Greens Norton, Gillingham and Bowridge, friend of kings, survived beheading and prison in the Tower of London. In the early 1600s two John Greenes came to America: John of Warwick and John of Quidnessett.
