About the Book
The images in this book are intended to be a reminder of the energy and vision of those who settled in and built regional Australia. At the same time they could be seen as a part lament for the loss of many regional and remote centers and towns, and the spirit that is disappearing with them.
The iconic landscapes that form the backdrop to many remote communities however are unchanging and timeless. They invoke a stillness and sense of calm that is not possible in large over-crowded cities. This is even more noticeable in a era where the backyard is disappearing.

Peter S
Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia
Peter has been a hobbyist casual explorer of Inland Australia for nearly forty years. He has travelled through the Simpson Desert, flown light aircraft across the "Top End", sailed the North Queensland coast and explored the back roads of QLD, NSW, VIC and SA on a motorbike. The journeys where not meant to be photographic expeditions, rather an opportunity to enjoy the people and timeless landscapes. However there was always a camera on hand... just in case!
