    About the Book

    Edit

James Blake's Makings Notes In The Margins Of Life , here in this book, has a double meaning. Firstly it is making notes, of the world that exists around him, in the margins of his own life, as he pass through places, imagining a better life, lived in various places and also about making notes of what exists in the margins of life in that wider world, be it obscure historic symbols of days gone by or contemporary, marginalised people, living on the fringes of society, or even ancient ruined castles in Wales or monumental churches in Spain (where he lived for a year) or figurative sculpture in France or the reminders of war in Cyprus (where he lived for four years) or homeless beggars in Israel and more from other visited countries; Holland, Portugal, Bulgaria, Andorra, Belgium, England (where he lived for three years), Czechia and Germany, where so many similar things can also be seen.

This book contains James Blake's overview of the photographs he took in those countries between the years 2011 and 2018 and is dedicated to his late Father, Bill, who passed away in 2014. Bill's passing was the inspiration for the title of the book, as most of us spend our lives making notes in the margins of our lives before we pass on.

The book also contains a quoted philosophy from 1692 on how we should live life and interact with the world.
