About the Book
For our trip in 2018 we planned to visit one of the ancestral homelands of the Moorish peoples in Morocco on the northwestern edge the enormous African continent. We would then follow the Moorish path across the Strait of Gibraltar to southern Spain, visiting the the major seats of power in al-Andalus - the cities of Seville, Cordoba and Granada (the last stand of the Nasrid dynasty) before flying to Barcelona to complete our trip and fly home to Australia.
We expected to find interesting food, a unique cultural challenge, amazing scenery and architecture. We both came away with an overwhelming appreciation of the unique heritage of the region and its people.
