About the Book
Our world is a patchwork quilt of geology: oceans, rivers, dry land wet land, hot land, cold land and everything in between. And we who are the inhabitants of those lands and seas are also a patchwork quilt of languages and customs. But are we really that much different, one from another? This collection of monochrome street photographs may convince you that the answer is - NO!

My photography dates from the late 1940s when I started developing 127 film from my Kodak "Baby Brownie" box camera. After learning darkroom skills from a professional photographer during college days in the late 1950s, there was a long hiatus when my focus was on family and career. My consulting work and a second teaching career required extensive travel and a camera of some sort was always with me. I came to favor so-called “street photography”, because I believe that it is people that define a nation or region, not land, buildings, monuments, economic condition or political systems.
