About the Book
Traveling in Myanmar feels much like a journey back in time. A journey to a land who’s story is still being written while it holds dearly to its ancient and exotic past. The bustling city of Yangon, formerly Rangoon, is marching headlong into the 21st century as economic development promises hope and change that is both welcomed and feared. Few places can exemplify political revolution as precisely as Myanmar and at the same time manifest innocence so eagerly. The charm that is found in it’s people can easily be traced back to it’s history, it’s isolation, it’s resolve and it’s incredible wealth of historic sights and rich cultural heritage. I recently had the privilege of traveling to Myanmar to discover it’s famous temples and little known wonders for myself. To capture images of these treasures in a country that just opened back up to the outside world again felt like a daydream at times. 96 color photos.
