About the Book
Uig occupies much of the south-west side of the island of Lewis. It has experienced considerable land settlement activity (new and enlarged crofts) which occurred in the early 1920s, shortly after the end of World War I. The Uig schemes have not attracted as much attention from historians as they merit. This publication sheds new light on them.
