About the Book
Phyllis grew up in Montana in the 30's and 40's, and that location informs much of her work. She went on to teach English, was a journalist, then became a librarian. The book contains memoirs, fiction, essays, journalism and poetry, and encompasses much of her life and experiences. The book has been placed in the biography section because most of her writing was based loosely on real events, but it is not a straightforward memoir. The book was compiled by Phyllis's daughter, who has added editorial comments.

About the Creator
Glenda Haas
Mahwah, New Jersey
I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother and grateful friend. I am also an artist and a teacher. I run my own after-school art program for children and conduct various workshops and classes. I was born in Montana and grew up in the Pacific Northwest. I earned a Fine Arts degree from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, then worked in art museums and the art publishing field. Becoming a mother dictated creating an occupation closer to home, and my current and best job was the result. I like all things art and frequently become obsessed with projects. I currently live with my tolerant husband and children in Mahwah, New Jersey.
