About the Book
A visual petition created to show the magnificence, diversity and worth of our native forests in the southwest of Western Australia, in particular the unique forest called "Helms" which is under threat of logging. The Jamarri Black Cockatoo sanctuary adjoins Helms and has for several decades released all rehabilitated birds into this natural habitat where they have remained to breed and raise families. This is a story of our iconic Cockatoos and the amazing people who love and care for them and the ridiculous situation where important native forests are opened up and destroyed for a few dollars while placing the future of an incredible array of birds, wiildlife and flora at jeopardy. Our Australian Forests and the Birds and wildlife within them.... so often taken for granted. But quietly in the background while most go about their everyday lives, oblivious, foolish agendas are destroying the future of our magnificent native forests and unsung Aussie heroes are fighting to save them, and protect the beautiful Black Cockatoos that rely on the old forests for habitat. This book was created from one such instance, where the forest known as "Helms" is under threat (and at this point is currently being logged, despite every action being taken by those who care) and the decades of work of the people at the Jamarri Black Cockatoo Sanctuary is under jeopardy..... Please take time to look at the images and understand the threats to the future wellbeing of this land and what makes it so unique and precious.

Life is the most amazing adventure....... and the discoveries are profound and precious..... If I can express this in any small way through my art and writing, then I am justified, if I can make this world a better place in any small way while I am here, then I am fulfilled. If I can make a positive difference in the life of just one other person or touch someone by my work, then I am truly honoured. Thank you.
