Having lived, courtesy his itinerant father’s career, in India, USA, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Portugal, besides travelling though several other countries, before he turned 20, questions of identity arose very early in Pradeep Dharmapalan’s life. These were soon followed by other questions which eventually led him to the metaphysical landscape he now calls, apart from a couple of specific physical locations on the planet, home. His attempts to map the countless excursions of the intellect and imagination, too, began at an early age. This has, over a period of time, found expression in his poetry, both scriptural and graphic, as well as in painting and prose. His cartographic endeavours continue.
