The Bambisanani Partnership is a unique collaboration developed by St. Mary’s School, Menston in the UK, and Mnyakanya School in Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa. Bambisanani is the Zulu word for “working hand in hand” and aptly encapsulates the partnership between the two schools.

The Bambisanani Partnership uses sport as a catalyst to develop global citizenship, education, health and leadership. The Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in London have proved a particular inspiration and focus for the collaboration.

The partnership, which begain in 2006 has gained both national and
international acclaim.

This book celebrates a remarkable learning project between the two schools which used the theme of “The Power of Sport” to stimulate art and creative writing. More than 600 students from both schools participated in the competitions and produced some inspired work. The book highlights both the power of the Bambisanani Partnership and
the power of sport.
