About the Book
Maugerville
St. John River Valley, 1775
Samuel Bridges left the Massachusetts colony far behind for a new life in Nova Scotia hoping to live out his days in peace amongst the hard working settlers on the St. John River. They were carving out a new land on the periphery of the empire, away from the heavy taxes, politics and arrogance of the colonial British government. Hardened by years of service in a frontier militia during the brutal and bloody French and Indian War Samuel had begun to put the past behind him when a ghost from that past would surface to threaten him and his loved ones and fan the flames of rebellion on the St. John.
