About the Book
This is a book about a tree who is sad that it looks like every other tree in the summer when its leaves are green. It wants to be different so others will notice. When its leaves turn color in the fall, it becomes the most beautiful tree in the forest. Although it begins to think that it is only beautiful in the fall, it eventually comes to the conclusion that, no matter what season it is, it can be happy because it lives in a forest surrounded by beauty.

My major career was as a professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the College of Lake County in Illinois. Although my photographic career began with taking images for illustrations in my geology classes it eventually morphed into a professional career in photography. Currently more than 1000 of my images appear in geology and biology textbooks and related publications. My work has also appeared in Sierra Club, Audubon, and Arizona Highways publications. I am currently retired and living in Arizona where I am concentrating on putting my images into books for the enjoyment of my family members who don't get much chance ot see the numerous images that have not been published.
