About the Book
Inspired by metropolitan skylines and the serenity of sages, this series by notable museum artist David Scotland is presented in this handsome volume and also includes rare photographs of the "One Night Only" LIVE performance of the artist completing three works (two Manhattan series, one Water series) at the Portland Art Museum in June 2006 with actors Tucker Smallwood and Jana Cole performing Scotland's poetry while the artist painted to his own inspired words. The evening was filmed for a full-length feature documentary about the artist and his 21st Century New Art Movement he founded (called "Companionism") that uses a unique and unusual process he calls "Quantum Aesthetics" to create the art and its effects on the viewer. David Scotland is the first artist in the art world to have his works studied precisely to determine its effects on the brain coherence of the viewer. That scientific study was completed in 2006 by some of Arizona State University's top sports and physicist Ph.D.s with remarkable and surprising results.
