About the Book
the following narrative provides a glimpse of sublime beauty found through exploitation of shorelines either through the macro scale of industry or through the micro scale of a blundered love serende.
in utah, saturated hues of red, chartreuse, violet are complimented by deliciously mottled shades of salt. the colors, created by leaching chemicals out of mineral deposits that saturate the lake waters, leave behind a toxic landscape that once supported wetland marshes. here, money and necessity reign over nature, but beauty prevails.
the diary of an evening between two lovers is found strewn about the shoreline at coney island. the cigarettes shared during a flirtatious conversation somehow turns south as evidenced by the unused condom and pulverized flowers ground into the sand and salt by rain. a beautiful evening gone awry.
the unintentionally beautiful vestiges of these acts which we create are the traces we leave behind.
