About the Book
In The Menil Collection, there is a large refectory table often displayed with a carved limestone skull on a velvet covered pedestal sitting atop the table. For this series of drawings, I have substituted a Greek Eye-Cup, also from the collection, for the skull. On each sheet are eight individual drawings, the sheet divided into eight quadrants by folding the paper, and all of the drawings were made holding the paper in the palm of the hand. Generally, in the top portion of a drawing, you will see an interpretation of an eye-cup, and in the lower part, the refectory table.
