About the Book
I have been working on the series of photographs in this book since 2006. In these photographs I tried to create the experience of being in the ocean and the waves. To do this I took an underwater camera with me into the surf along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico in Texas and Florida. With the underwater camera I tried to capture turbulence, swells, bubbles, approaching waves, being hit by waves, refracted light and more.
The photographs were taken with a Pentax Optio W10 and a Pentax Optio W30 from September 2006 to May 2011. These Pentax cameras are water immersible digital point and shoot cameras.
