About the Book
“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights and each of them
has all the rights and freedoms without distinction of any kind.”
(UN resolution for gay rights, approved June 17, 2011, and renamed the
"historic breakthrough")
The resolution was presented right now, because now more than ever emerge
stories of violence and social discrimination towards homosexuals groups.
In a modern world that want to have unlimited horizons, you still need to write
laws to try to end injustice and violence that should never existed.
In Italy there has never been a law against homophobia.
Just Italy, which hosted, in Rome, the 2011 Europride, the biggest event LGBT
(Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and queer-identified people) in Europe,
is among the countries that choose to do nothing to improve gay rights.
For three years I have documented the LGBT community protests to protect their
rights and to claim the visibility and acceptance of LGBT people and the realization
of anti-discrimination laws that also include discrimination on the basis of
sexual orientation.
“Be Proud” is dedicated to all the people that should be proud of their sexual
orientation and gender identity.
