About the Book

The essence of Alexander Lozovoy’s art is movement, for, above all, it is the kinetic principle which informs his paintings, monotypes and collages, whether figurative or non-figurative. In his kaleidoscope of colors, forms and textures, people leap and run, shapes collide and surfaces intersect, establishing an energy and vigor which strike and sear the senses.
Alexander Lozovoy was born in UdSSR in 1949. His parents were closely connected with Russian culture and art. Lozovoy is an independent artist living in Moscow. His paintings have been often exhibited both in Russia and abroad, and his works have been acquired by art collectors from many countries of the world. In his paintings Lozovoy uses some techniques and secrets inherited from the old Russian icon school. His canvases are painted by the application of tiny brushstrokes of different colors which do not merge together thus producing the general effect of extreme brightness and clarity. Since the chemical elements of the pigments do not interact with each other the natural colors are fully preserved in his works.
