About the Book
Seasonal Symmetry is a photographic design project that all started as an experiment by a frustrated landscape photographer on a snowbound winter afternoon. While exploring some of the features of a photo editing software during record breaking snowfalls in the Shenandoah Valley during the winter of 2010 I discovered how to create re-mixes of the vivid colors and myriad of textures found around us in the natural world. To say that this process of duplicating and rotating elements of existing photographs took on a life of its own is not an exaggeration. I spent hours in front of the computer manipulating digital images pixel by pixel to create new designs from existing designs that morph into kaleidoscope like renditions of images found in nature.
