About the Book
Under Control is a photographic exploration of feminism, bodily autonomy and the impact of political and social power on individual lives. Combining nude portraiture, and protest photography, the work examines themes including violence against women, censorship of the female body, identity and resistance. Through both personal experience and contextual research, the project challenges systems of control while giving visibility to voices and experiences that are often ignored or silenced.

About the Creator
Cristina Croitoru
Northampton, UK
I am a young photography student from Northampton whose work focuses on social issues, feminist movements and political themes. Through portraiture, documentary and conceptual photography, I aim to explore topics such as gender inequality, bodily autonomy and human rights. My practice is centred around using photography as a tool for awareness, representation and challenging injustice, with a strong focus on equality for all races, genders and communities.
