About the Book
Lilium is a collection of micro stories, prose and photography that together explore loss and rebirth. Volume 1 pays tribute to love lost, invoking the spirits of those who have passed on, both literally and metaphorically. What do we keep with us to honor the memory of those we've lost, and what do we let go? Lilium honors those people and circumstances that change us, while also mourning their passing. One of the first words in Latin to mean flower, lilium, has come to symbolize both life and death. It is known for healing heartache after a loss. Cut flowers, facing death themselves, offer one final display before they whither and change themselves. Each image and story takes the viewer on a journey of discovery, coming to terms with what has passed and using the lessons to move forward.
