Yumi can't wait to discover what happens at midnight when it turns to the new year. She had heard stories from her friends at school, but never actually stayed up late herself.

This year, she has permission from mom to stay up late and she has a few tricks to help stay awake.

Although she is afraid of the dark, with her imaginary friend, San, she dreams up what could happen in the new year.
