This book documents a piece of textile art which resides in Mercers’ Hall. It describes how the ‘Maiden and the Mulberry’ came about and how the work was created from a piece of wool and 40,000 metres of thread.

Polly makes bespoke textile artworks, predominantly for sacred spaces. Her techniques are largely traditional in application but her designs use these methods in a contemporary way giving her work longevity and durability. Inspiration is drawn from architecture, spirituality and natural colour. She has installations in many churches and cathedrals across the UK in addition to being collected by other artists and the public.
