“Perceived memories” is used as a term describing fragments of reality that never happened
to us, but we perceive them as memories. Those can be bits of information and images from
the media, movies, stories from friends, basically any type of information. We mix this
information with our own real memories and create a parallel reality that we deem as
recollection of events.
