      About the Book

      Edit

What separates human beings from all other animals is our obsession with understanding the nature of existence and our reality. As self-conscious creatures, we question our experience in terms of our unique relationship to it. The questions regarding reality and how it affects our relationship with existence, reflect the fundamental premises leading to the greatest advancements of humanity: language, mathematics, philosophy, religion, science, medicine, art, music, politics, and more. It could certainly be argued that our recognition, understanding, and manipulation of reality is the essential history of our species.

The Substack Edition is based on a weekly newsletter that expands on the original How Things Work series, starting with book one, Dualism. However, I needed to find a new format and structure that would make the newsletters unique and independent from the books. It took thirty-nine weeks to complete the first book. Thirty-nine Considerations about Reality, from October 19, 2021 through July 12, 2022. Reality one week at a time! The original book was only eighty-two pages long. This new Substack Edition is over 320 pages. That's a whole lot more Reality!

So, whether a day at a time, a week at a time, or all at the same time, take some time; to consider the history and nature of your Reality.
