About the Book
In Mr. Robert’s Great Plains, the wildlife of this expansive habitat is explored through the sojourn of Theodore Roosevelt, also known as Teddy or TR. Teddy was a noted American historical political and environmental figure in the early 1900s. History, science, and reading are blended into the story, which uses an historic personality to engage young readers in learning about the vast array of plants and animals in the Great Plains ecosystem. This Wilderness Habitat Discovery Journal is one a series describing wildlife habitats around the world. ClueQ is an interactive component utilized in the story’s text, which contains clues to help young readers answer a question about each intriguing wildlife subject. Adults are encouraged to read and look for the clues in the story with their children.

Robert Bullock, author and illustrator, formerly designed interactive educational exhibits, notably at New York City’s American Museum, the Peabody Museum at Yale, and Pennsylvania’s State Museum, all which house renown habitat dioramas, the inspiration for the Wilderness Habitat Discovery Journal series. Bullock later taught ESL to university students and youth at Liaocheng University, Shandong, China, where he was called Mr. Robert. Presently, he continues to write and illustrate Wilderness Habitat Discovery Journals and develop other interactive educational projects for young readers and learners in order to develop language skills and outdoor awareness.
