About the Creator
André Lobão
London
As a self-taught street/documentary photographer, I believe the camera is an instrument of self-expression and a path to discover humanity. I photograph in black and white to detach myself from the objective reality of the world. My images are personal observations, metaphors of themes that interest me even when the camera is down: displacement, identity, memory, alienation, but also the whimsical, bizarre and unexpected moments of ordinary life. The camera is only an excuse to look closer.
