About the Book
Death Valley National Park is the largest park in the lower 48 states. It is the hottest and driest place in the country and includes the lowest elevation, Badwater Basin, which is 282 feet below sea level. It was declared a National Monument in 1933 and it was eventually expanded and made a National Park by congress in 1994. This book describes scenic drives and trails in the park and is illustrated with scores of color photographs.
