I grew up surrounded by the French Canadian fairy tales passed down through my family, stories my mother told with such delight that I (and now my children), can still recite by heart. Many of them feature the adventures of Petit Jean, an intelligent and sometimes mischievous character. These stories shaped my imagination and inspired my desire to retell them for new audiences.

I’m a retired computer engineer and statistician now living in northern Colorado with my husband and our rescue dog, Buddy. Despite a career rooted in logic and data, I’ve always been drawn to the magic of a well‑told story. Fairy tales, especially, carry wisdom, wonder, and history across generations.

Recreating and sharing these delightful stories is an honor and a privilege. The best tales shouldn’t be tucked away or forgotten; they should be retold, reshaped, and kept alive for new generations to enjoy.
