paula is a photographer, and in her practice interweaves her own photography with orphan photographs, found objects and archival research to draw links between experiences of contemplative photography and synchronicity in everyday life.
She is also Senior Lecturer in Art Photography and Photobook Publishing in the School of Arts and Creative Industries at the London South Bank University, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
paula created msdm —the acronym for mobile strategies of display & mediation—as a nomadic project space for artistic and curatorial experimentation, social publishing and shared learning experience.
Since 2015 the msdm project has been focused on developing a live-work method articulated around the model of house—studio—gallery, a project space with its own imprint: msdm publications— a micro-publishing platform encompassing photographic and book art processes.
