El Imagenero

Rainbow, California
About

My first was Nikon handed down to me with a single Nikkor 50mm. Shortly thereafter I began taking photos of all sorts of things. Perhaps arising from education in engineering, I became interested in composition, shapes and colors, with less regard for the objects that carried them. Later, perhaps in response to further education in religion and philosophy, I became more interested in juxtapositions and relationships of what might be thought of as incongruous objects and situations.

I first sold a custom "R-Print" years ago, and it is still a favorite image of mine. ("Onion, Radish, Egg," my icon and at www.elimagenero.com.)

I now create fine art prints under the name El Imagenero, which are sold in galleries, through designers, and which are offered online.

My work is not limited to any particular subject matter, although some viewers tend to focus on one or another theme and then tell me that the subjects on which they focus are the best and most interesting.

Areas of Expertise

For many years now my artistic intent has been to elucidate relationships in ways that people inherently understand, but less frequently are able to articulate, I'm interested in relationships between individuals of course, but also between things, humanity and individuals, and especially humans and the planet. More modernist than post-modern, prints of my work have been shown throughout California, and some currently hang on walls in several states and countries throughout the Americas.
