Ray Basri, MD is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College.
Dr. Basri was at the World Trade Center on the morning of 9/11 and was the first physician to the remains of the south tower that morning. He provided disaster management immediately after Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and the Gulf coast of Mississippi and made six more trips there in the next two years. More recently, on January 15th, 2009, Dr. Basri was at the Miracle on the Hudson. He was the first and only physician at the water ferry terminal where the passengers and crew of USAir 1549 were brought ashore. Dr. Basri wrote a chapter in the book Brace For Impact describing that day as a physician and firefighter. After that event, Dr. Basri was asked to be a treating physician for the WTC monitoring program of the FDNY. also assisted in the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan also Hurricane Sandy.
