I am an Oakland, California based landscape photographer with a passion for astro landscape photography. I began my love affair of the night skies as a child when I would sit on a hill near my house and draw pictures of the stars. Later, as an adult, when I found that I could photograph those same stars, the excitement and mystery was still there. The Milky Way, our home galaxy, is my favorite night subject to photograph. There is something so compelling about this band of stars that contains our solar system. Looking up at it gives my world perspective. It is a reminder that our amazing earth and we humans are part of a much larger and mysterious universe. I would like to awaken the viewer through my night photography to its visual possibilities, the excitement of a meteor shower, the joy of the sparkling stars reflecting in a mountain lake, or the quiet, meditative serenity the night’s soothing silence can bring.
