About

My paintings use color to capture the viewer’s attention and draw them into the work. My palette is limited to two or three colors which blend on the surface. I create textures and contours in the painted surface using various techniques and materials. The painting part of my art is simple. I lay plastic wrap, wax paper or found objects on the wet surface to create texture; or spray with water/alcohol. I use palette knives, combs and tiler’s tools to make contours and move the paint on the surface. In drawing, I then follow those contours with black, white and metallic inks. I find drawing the paths through the contours to be a meditative exploration.
