About

Glenn Bydwell is a photographer, feature film designer, commercial director and architect.
His work in these areas has regularly drawn favorable attention and awards. His passion for photography was inspired by Montreal stills photographers Geoffrey James, and Gabor Szilasi and his collaborations as set designer with the great British cinematographers John Alcott and Derek Van Lint. Examples from his early photographic collections, BLACK SAND GIRLS and LEUTY STATON, were acquired and internationally exhibited by Polaroid. His ‘wet plate’ and ‘iPhone’ series have been regularly recognized. Images from his END OF THE TABLE, ROYAUME DE SAGUENAY, DETRIUS, RECTO VERSO, FALLEN LADIES and WINTERING OVER collections have been awarded in the last three GALA AWARD biennials. These photographic collections comprise unique thematic studies of particular landscapes, portraits and still life subjects.
