About
Carol lives and works in Brisbane, Australia, as an artist and teacher. For the last eight years she has been holding art classes in her home-based Studio. Colour - A Practical Approach is the result of student requests for in-depth exercises in colour and colour mixing.
Carol studied Fine Art at the Durban University of Technology, South Africa with the focus on painting. As well as teaching both Junior and High School students, she illustrated books and created mosaic designs and badges. Later, a garden landscaping business gave her the opportunity to design with plants and rock. While doing a twelve year stint in the retail trade as owner and manager, Carol continued to paint, exhibiting frequently at various Durban galleries.
Carol’s paintings are a response to her surroundings with the choice of subject based on the visual pull of an image; intense, powerful colours; and strong light and shade.
