About the Book
Northern Virginia is one of the fastest growing areas in the United States. Issues such as development, traffic, and changing demographics are frequent topics of debate in local media, political forums, and every day conversations. This book features the work of photography students from Northern Virginia Community College-Woodbridge campus. These students documented the changing physical and cultural landscape of this area, their hometowns and surrounding communities. Subject matter includes roads, chain stores, construction projects, new and old homes, small businesses, places of worship, schools, gas stations, the county landfill, and vulnerable wildlife. Also documented were recreational activities, parents with their children, teens at leisure, and people at work. Fourteen students contributed to this 166 page book.
