About the Creator
Bonnie Natko is a keen observer of the everyday. With her Candid City blog, she explores the vibrancy of the people, places, and things that are encountered on a daily basis. From the subways to the buses, the many neighborhoods she wanders through, to street festivals, she captures the spirit of the ongoing moment. A native New Yorker hailing from the borough of Queens, she has seen the city change before her eyes. Her images have been published in: Gothamist, The New York Observer, The Village Voice, Curbed, WNYC.org, The Wall Street Journal (blog), O'Reilly Media, Dwell Magazine Online, NYC.gov, The Brooklyn Paper, and Grubstreet among others. She was also commissioned to shoot one of the girls profiled in the Penguin/Puffin book, "Girls Gone Green" published in 2010. Her first camera was a Kodak Instamatic. Currently she shoots with the Hipstamatic app on her iPhone, but still is known to take out her SLR on occasion.
