About the Book
"Over The Horizon" is the story of two characters facing in opposite directions in their lives, both making fateful voyages across the open Texas prairie. To #34, a small cow on a ranch he has never left, the boundaries of the horizon represent freedom. A daily scamper up his tiny hill provides a vantage point for his dreams of escape while he waits for just the right moment. For returning veteran Ken Ayrshire, a purple heart and a prosthetic leg are reminders of the danger he faced when he left home not long ago. Now making his return, he waits at a bus depot along the same stretch of highway as #34.
Two individuals along the same path, looking at the flat line that divides the heavens and the earth with two different
perspectives.
The short film, created by Andrew Klein, tells the slice of their story where their two paths cross. This book takes a deeper look at the production itself, showing concept art, models and stills as well as discussing the process in greater detail.
