Rix Kramlich is a software veteran and entrepreneur with unique and balanced experience in both large enterprise and start-up environments. He has 6 start-up exits to his credit and has held senior management roles in public companies such as Macromedia, i2 Technologies and ABB. Prior to Blurb, Rix was a co-founder and CEO of a fintech start-up that was acquired in September of 2017.
Creativity has defined Rix’s entire life as both a producer and appreciator. He grew up drawing and painting as a passionate pastime, which translated into a degree in architecture from the University of California at Berkeley. He became a practicing architect and embraced the first-generation of CAD technologies, which led to a product management role at a start-up in San Francisco that later became Macromedia. At Macromedia, which was later acquired by Adobe Systems, he managed a number of product lines including the creation and launch of its first bundled product, The Freehand Graphics Studio, targeted at the print market.
For the second part of his career, Rix bridged into the enterprise software market with experience in B2B markets such as supply chain, manufacturing and CRM with executive roles in marketing and business development.
Rix originally joined Blurb in October of 2017 to develop the business’ growth strategy and is now excited to lead Blurb to its next level of success in the capacity of the company’s CEO.

Kelly Leach is passionate about quality content and is excited to be a part of Blurb given its focus on providing anyone with the means to put their own amazing content into book or magazine format. Kelly’s responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer at Blurb include overseeing product, marketing, technology and program management.
She has spent her career helping to grow the businesses of venerable media brands such as The Wall Street Journal and Time Magazine. As Dow Jones’ London-based Managing Director for EMEA and publisher of The Wall Street Journal’s European edition, Kelly led the expansion of the Journal’s digital business in the region, including the launches of local language editions of wsj.com in Germany and Turkey.
As General Manager for The Wall Street Journal in the U.S. she oversaw several substantial new projects including the global launch and expansion of WSJ Magazine, the launch of the Greater New York Section and the revamp of the Saturday edition known as WSJ Weekend. She joined Dow Jones from Time Inc. where she led the development of a digital archive of 80+ years of Time Magazine.
Prior to joining Blurb, Kelly was most recently CEO of Piano, a technology platform company offering analytics and commerce solutions to help media companies develop consumer digital revenue streams.

In 2005, color print-on-demand books were too expensive to be practical for authors and businesses. Bruce Watermann’s task as part of the founding executive team at Blurb was to solve that problem and he changed the industry in the process, taking the company from $0 to $40M+ in revenue and profitability three years after launch.
As Blurb’s SVP Operations, Bruce Watermann oversees global print production strategy and technology, partner relationships, customer support, volume sales, and fulfillment. He is responsible for the creation of what is widely regarded as the most comprehensive and agile digital and offset print network in the self-publishing industry, with multiple locations in North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
Bruce has worked in the photography and printing industries for over 40 years, merging traditional skills with state-of-the-art digital technologies to accurately represent fine art and photo imagery. Prior to joining Blurb, Bruce worked as an executive consultant to the digital imaging industry, advising established companies and start-ups including Apple, Hewlett-Packard, Costco, art.com, and MyPublisher in developing efficient and forward-thinking processes to promote access and sales of photography, fine art, and photo products.
He was a member of the senior management team that took Bill Gates’ Corbis Corporation out of R&D into a real-world business as Director of Global Imaging Operations from 1994-2000. From 1981-1993 Bruce was Vice President-Production for Pacific Color, Inc., the Pacific Northwest’s premier digital and photographic imaging laboratory, at the introduction of analog-to-digital conversion, supporting clients including Microsoft, Adobe, Weyerhaeuser, Westin Hotels and PhotoDisc.

Ken Evans has long possessed Blurb’s self-publishing spirit. Back in 1992 he used Apple software and Kinko’s printing to sell on demand CPA study cards through college bookstores and magazine ads.
Over the last 20+ years, Ken has been CFO at a variety of companies beginning with a chain of art supply stores, Amsterdam Art; a $100 million consumer products manufacturer, Bloomrite; before helping grow and sell startup BellaPictures.com, the first national wedding photography brand. Before Blurb, Ken was CFO for Bookrenter.com, joining the company before its first audit and taking the company though the pre-IPO process.
Ken joined Blurb in March of 2014 and heads the accounting and financial planning and analysis groups.

Chris Radcliffe is a hands-on tech leader who has mastered the art of
herding cats managing engineers, and scaling teams for success. He constantly quests for their growth in both leadership and technology excellence.
As our VP of Engineering, he is responsible for delivering the technology that powers Blurb's customer experience and provides the foundation for our business. He is no stranger to books and publishing, having led ProQuest's ebook platform startup team from 2003 through rapid growth and constant evolution, before joining Blurb.
Over his career, Chris has worked on core operating systems and databases, internet infrastructure, security platforms and content systems. He transitioned to software development leadership during his 8-year career with Informix, a pioneer of relational database technology, data warehousing and programming languages (sold to IBM). He later joined NeXT Computer led by Steve Jobs, and contributed to an amazing early tech culture. The internet/web explosion propelled Chris into digital rights management and patent work (InterTrust), massive content streaming infrastructure (iBeam), and ultimately brought him to ebrary, the ebook market leader for academic publishing (acquired by ProQuest in 2011).
Chris is a lifelong surfer, regularly in the water at Santa Cruz and Ocean Beach, SF.

California-based photojournalist David Butow has worked in over two dozen countries including Afghanistan, Burma, Iraq, Peru and Yemen. His news and feature coverage of subjects such as the 2011 Japanese tsunami, the 2008 China earthquake and social issues in the United States have won awards from World Press Photo, Communications Arts, American Photography Annual, Photo District News and others.
His current project is titled Seeing Buddha which has been published in the New York Times and National Geographic magazine. Butow’s photographs have been exhibited in various venues such at the Asia Society, the United Nations in New York and at Visa Pour L'Image in Perpignan, France. He is a member of Redux Pictures and has been a guest lecturer at many institutions including the Annenberg Space for Photography, Stanford University, and the Otis College of Art and Design. His commercial and editorial clients have included Apple, National Geographic Books and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
