About the Book
The '90s were for me the most beautiful and also the most creative - an exciting time of celebrating the newfound freedom after the fall of the communist regime in Romania. My life has completely changed because of these photographs taken during those years when I was correspondent for AFP, Sygma, EPA and AP.

About the Creator
Andrei Iliescu
Romania
I was born in 1956, in Bucharest, Romania. Although my education was of a different kind, my passion for photography was formed in childhood. In December 1989 I wandered the streets with my camera and took advantage of the chance I've been waiting for all my life. For the following eight years I was photographer for Sygma, AFP, EPA, and AP. Then I made a choice which at that time seemed to lead me a step further: working on my own in commercial photography. More than ten years I spent working in my studio. It was a huge challenge, but photojournalism kept whispering in my ear and I remembered an old passion repressed over those years: travels. Now I’m attracted by the documentary field working mainly on personal long-term projects.
