About the Book
Ken Tyrrell was the elected trade union convenor for the Amalgamated Union of Engineering Workers at the Coventry plant of the tractor maker Massey Ferguson between 1978 and 1987. He had worked in the factory since 1965.
His account of working and trade union life is as hilarious in parts as it is grippingly serious in others. It captures the camaraderie and politics of the organised workforce as it was.
