About the Creator
Kate is descendant from Yurok, Karuk, Hupa and Redwood Creek Peoples of California, the seventh generation since contact. She received her Masters degree in social work from Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA (2006), previously earning her Bachelor of Arts in Native American Studies with a minor in psychology (2004). Kate began writing at age 13 in order to have a voice and only after learning a comprehensive language to convey what she knows, is now on her journey of publishing the material developed over time. Her objective in writing books is to present ideas that reach across all socio-economic groups to increase self awareness and promote improved life experiences. While transitioning to this time in her life, she has taken on the traditional family name "Estikta" and you will find her at www.estikta.com
