About the Book
If you are not familiar with the Ottawa Eagles Alternative Prom, let me tell you a little about it. It's an annual Prom created for people with special needs high school age and above. It's a LOT of fun, as the pictures in the book depict. The captions are meant to add a little humor, and come from my slightly warped mind, LOL! I hope you enjoy our very special book. As we head into out fifth year, I can honestly say, what began as a dream, continues as a reality!

About the Creator
I have been married for 28 years. We have 5 children. Three wonderful biological sons, an adopted daughter and a daughter who we are guardians of. Our life is interesting, in a good way. Our second son was born with Down syndrome. We always wanted a daughter, so we adopted our fourth child who also has Down syndrome. Then a few years ago, we became guardians of a teenager with Down syndrome. I have a heart for people with special needs and have a passion for making their lives better. This includes starting an agency which provides integration into our community activities. We also are very active in Special Olympics. We hold an annual Alternative Prom which is awesome, and have our own bowling league. We have plans to begin a post high school educational program starting this fall. As our agency, Ottawa Eagles Rec. & Leisure Org., grows, so do the needs that we identify. We attempt and strive to meet those needs.
