About the Creator
I have always loved photography. My first camera was borrowed from my parents - a simple Kodak 110. Despite its limitations it was a wonderful way to learn composition light focus and depth of field. As my interest grew I experimented with different cameras lenses film formats and film stocks. Along the way I discovered the richness and subtlety of black and white photography and it became my favorite medium. Today I still try to have a camera with me whenever possible because the best photographs often appear when least expected. Black and white can be gritty bold and dramatic or quiet soft and ethereal. My ongoing BLACK AND LIGHT series includes Volumes I through VI along with the original Standard and Special Editions. The books explore landscapes, travel, people, places, objects, and everyday moments through black and white photography. Volume V explores Lancaster County, while Volume VI celebrates the cameras and lenses that helped shape my photography. The journey continues.
