      About the Book

      Edit

Five women who write stories: they were born in different countries on three different continents. Collectively they have celebrated almost four hundred birthdays. One was born in Canada and the other four travelled almost 25,000 kilometres to make Canada home. They have wanted to tell their stories for a long time.
Meet Adalene, Ebe, Gerda, Jane and Shirley. These friends have taken great care in choosing pieces from their collections of writings. Some honoured their ancestors. Others focused on their early childhoods and growing up years. Some swept boldly through the decades and others included vignettes of life today.
Travel with them arm-in-arm, internationally and through time, and enjoy the distinctive voices of these five women who write stories.
